Antonio Fuentes Mendiola, ordenado sacerdote en 1966. Pertenece a la Prelatura del Opus Dei. Hizo la licenciatura y el doctorado en Teología en la Universidad Lateranense de Roma, entre 1962 y 1966. Ha sido profesor de Sagrada Escritura y de Ética, ejerciendo la docencia en la Facultad de Teología de la Universidad de Navarra, (Departamento de Sagrada Escritura, especialidad de Antiguo Testamento), y ha dado clases también de Ética en la Universidad de Sevilla y en el Instituto Internacional San Telmo.
