Description

In an age of hookup culture, unrealistic beauty standards, and the prevalence of divorce, finding a spouse and maintaining a healthy marriage can often feel impossible.

Now for the first time in English, Dr. Enrique Rojas’ pivotal work, The Challenge of Love: Making Marriage Work shares a complete vision for pursuing a spouse and nurturing a fulfilling marriage over a lifetime.

Dr. Rojas begins by setting a solid foundation—he outlines what love actually is, how to know if a relationship has the potential for marriage, and key suggestions for setting a marriage up for success, backed by his own clinical experience. Rojas cites the greatest thinkers in history, from Socrates to Josef Pieper, to comment on the nature of love.

He continues by outlining the key ingredients of a happy marriage, again citing clinical examples of how these ingredients are maintained (or lost and then found again) in married couples he has worked with. Finally, Dr. Rojas addresses how to deal with common issues that plague marriages, and a detailed plan for navigating conflicts in a healthy manner.

The Challenge of Love is an essential read for couples discerning marriage, engaged couples, and married couples. Dr. Rojas’ offers a hopeful and optimistic plan for a happy and life-giving marriage through his wise advise and clinical experience as a psychiatrist.
