Visions of Pugatory: A Private Revelation - Book Excerpt

I had the grace of being able to dedicate some time during the morning to pray for the souls in purgatory. I was finishing the Rosary when I saw a vivid light. My guardian angel, who was close to me, took holy water and gave it to me. I sprinkled it over that strange light; it opened up and I understood that it was purgatory. I saw a place without limits or borders, only the cross. I saw millions of souls sunk in the pain of the fire of divine love. It was like a furnace where only the river of blood of the Immaculate Lamb could ease the flames, bringing consolation to the souls. My angel told me:
Offering Masses for them is what provides the greatest alleviation to the souls in purgatory. This is why during the Holy Mass you remember the dead, underlining the unity of the complete Mystical Body and calling on you for prayer for their intentions, which is a duty for the celebrant and also for the faithful.
The holy souls in purgatory have a right to your prayer, both liturgical and personal prayer. This has been established by the Most High.
I was facing millions of souls. There were people of every condition, nation, and epoch, people of all ages. I saw the great of this world and the humble (humble in the sense of their social condition, for there are no spiritually humble people in purgatory). There were children and old people, husbands and wives, both men and women religious, adolescents, kings, farmers, workers, poor and rich, and also bishops, popes, officials, professors, etc. This vision caused me some fear, but also an unprecedented amazement; above all it inflamed in me the desire to pray for these souls. I understood that our Lord wanted me to record these visions for this end: so that we would pray for these holy souls to speed up their liberation. Then everything was erased.

The Holy Mass is the fountain of all graces, and during the entire day I felt internally a gentle light that opened the eyes of my soul to the invisible realities of the supernatural world. From where I was, I saw multitudes of souls in purgatory: They came in silence, and most of them were covered with a kind of ashy mist. They were extending “extending their hands, as if begging for more prayers. What emotional symbolism! I offered for them all that I had done during the day.

During the Way of the Cross (which I dedicated especially to the souls in purgatory), these souls were behind me, and I saw a haze of small drops of dew that blossomed from my prayer and fell over them like a refreshing light rain. I invoked our Lord and asked him to renew upon these souls the abundant and vivifying effusion of his most precious Blood; at various times I saw how a double tide of blood came forth from the wounds and the burning Heart of Jesus crucified—or rather, that all of his blood reunited in a single river to pour itself out in two burning waves. The first irrigated the Church militant on earth, and the other rested like a cloud over purgatory. When I presented this redemptive Blood to the Father, a ray of light fell upon the holy souls of purgatory, who received it like a beneficial rain. They were like people dry and lost in the desert who suddenly receive a plentiful rain of clear, fresh water.

At the end of the evening, I entered a church, took some holy water and sprinkled it on the stones, following the custom of other countries, and said to our Lord: “My God, a little holy water for the suffering souls.” And there came a light spring, which mitigated the thirst of a multitude of souls in purgatory. All of this came about in silence, within a great peace. I understood that offering all we do in a day can serve as a suffrage: prayers, good works, acts of piety and devotion, aspirations to our Lord, the Blessed Virgin, and the saints, acts of humility, all sufferings, little voluntary mortifications, resignation in sickness and in the face of death—in summary, all that we are able to do. And when we are praying for a special intention, we can associate the holy souls in purgatory with it. This will not take efficacy from our special intention; on the contrary, it will be enriched in that way.
The souls in purgatory don’t monopolize anything; instead, they enrich our prayers. Our prayer, then, has a great ecclesial dimension, from earth to heaven. In giving thanks to God for making me understand this, I contemplated these things that gave me great light and brought me peace.
